The Others will have to reunite once again to defeat a threat that has a connection to their relics.
Thousands of years ago, Atlan, the king of Atlantis got ten different relics from a mysterious alchemist for his purposes. In the present though, such relics seems to be losing their strenght but that won't stop a strange group of assassins who want to obtain them.
This is the first issue of a new ongoing series featuring The Others, people who have been following me might remember that I have been claiming for a series featuring these characters for a while so how does it holds-up.
I would say that it's pretty solid but not exactly impressive. Dan Jurgens does a good job at the script explaining who this people are and how their abilities work and even including a bit of expansion to their techniques as well as nice characterization that is faithful to their previous appearances and well done scenes focusing on character dynamics. Nothing really groundbreaking but it's a solid effort nonetheless.
But I suppose that you're wondering how does this connects to Futures End. Well, let's just say that there's a vision at the end but nothing that you wouldn't know based on the solictations based on the upcoming weekly series.
Lan Medina provides the artwork for this series and it's simply great. His style is quite expressive which improves the character moments and it's able to tell the story in a really clear way, it also follows the same tone that Ivan Reis and Paul Pelletier have been developing on the main series which is a nice touch.
Satisfying issue, nothing that will blow your mind but it's still a good team book.
