Lex Luthor has finally reunited his Injustice League, would that be enough to take down the Crime Syndicate?
Sinestro is in search of Volthoom, Power Ring's ring, so he can finally obtain his revenge for the destruction of Korugar while Luthor shows Batman who is the one who is really in charge. However, not everything is as positive as it looks since the threat that the Crime Syndicate have been preparing for is finally arriving.
It seems like the plot is finally moving and I thankful for that. Geoff Johns manages to make the "fight" between Sinestro and Power Girl entertaining enough and the outcome goes pretty much as you may expect. The best aspect of this issue however, is Lex's characterization, he's portrayed as very smart and resourceful man who knows how to deal with threats in every level, even managing to show Batman who is the boss, that's something that you don't see everyday although I wish.
Plus, the developments are finally coming together, the biggest menace that they have been teasing since issue 1 is finally surfacing and Volthoom is searching for a new host, could it be the rumoured Jessica Cruz?
I'm also glad to say that David Finch's art actually looks better now, the characters don't look as deformed and there are much more details in them and the action. I would say that is pretty solid.
Really good issue but I still wish that the last couple ones deliver the big resolution we're hoping for.
"Sinestro is in search of Volthoom, Power Ring's ring, so he can finally obtain his revenge for the destruction of Korugar while Luthor shows Batman who is the one who is really in charge."
ResponderBorrarThis isn't true, no where in this issue did Sinestro say he wanted to get revenge on Volthoom for what happened to Korugar. For all we know, the Volthoom of Earth 3 isn't the same one as the Volthoom seen in Wrath of the First Lantern as the behavior is totally different.
Sinestro clearly states that he is only there to retrieve the Yellow ring used by Batman in the previous issue.
Johns actually stated that Sinestro was going to search Volthoom in this series due to what happened to Korugar, I'm basing my thoughts on that.
BorrarAlso, the Volthoom that appears here is the same since the character came from Earth 3 and went back to that universe after his defeat in Green Lantern.
Thanks for the comment.
Where did Johns say this? I haven't seen anything written about that. If you could post a link to an interview, I would like to read it. Thanks.
ResponderBorrarWe don't know that the Volthoom character came from Earth 3 in Wrath of the First Lantern. If so there are a lot of inconsistencies in this. For one, when Volthoom was defeated in GL #20, did Volthoom's ring travel into the past of Earth 3 to reach that version's Hal Jordan? Since he received the ring five years ago according to JL #26 or even further into the past to reach the Abin Sur of that world? That's why I think that there are two Volthoom's One from Earth Prime and the one seen here from Earth 3. That's the only way any of that makes sense, at least to me.
I can't seem to find the interview where it was stated unfortunately, I just remember that I read it somewhere.
BorrarAbout Volthoom, he definitely comes from Earth 3. When he first appeared on GL he wore an uniform that had an american flag backwards which suggests that he comes from that universe.
Also, he's apparently able to travel through time and space since he first appeared when the Guardians of the Universe where developing their Corps and they based it on him.
