Recommendations from Comixology' Secret Origins Sale

All right people, Comixology has another seven day sale this time focusing in the origins of DC's most famous characters (or at least the ones who were available) and here I have some recommendations for you as always:
  • Batman: Year One: By now you should know how important this story is for the Batman mythos. Written masterfully by Frank Miller and drawn beautifully by David Mazzucchelli, this story cemented a tone for a new generation of readers.
  • Superman: Man of Steel: Both written and drawn by John Byrne, this story is a pretty solid origin for the character after Crisis on Infinite Earths and defined Superman for years after it.
  • Superman: Birthright: While not as relevant as the previous origin, is still an enjoyable one. Written by Mark Waid and drawn by Leinil Yu, the story tries to modernize Superman for a new audience.
  • Green Lantern: Secret Origin: This is the best Hal Jordan origin written by Geoff Johns and drawn by Ivan Reis, they told a great story that took a lot of points from the character's past.
  • Green Arrow: Year One: I already talked about this before so I will say again that you must buy this, completely worth it.
  • JLA. Year One: Written by both Mark Waid and Bryan Augustin and drawn by Barry Kitson, this books is suited in a time where the Trinity were not part of the Justice League, it's still a quite good series and it creates interesting dynamics for the team.
  • Robin: Year One: Written by both Chuck Dixon and Scott Beatty while drawn by Javier Pulido, this series is a great retelling of Dick Grayson's first steps as Robin.
  • Batgirl: Year One: Written by the same Robin team but this time drawn by Marcos Martin, this title is the perfect Barbara Gordon origin, no other series have a better treatment of the character in terms of story and art. Plus, it serves as kind of a sequel to Robin: Year One.
I hope this helps your decisions.
