Some thoughts about Superman/Wonder Woman #7

A Superman: Doomed prelude.

Superman and Wonder Woman barely survived the nuclear explosion caused by Zod and Faora and now an agonizing Clark will have to try to save Diana from her injuries. However, their biggest problems are yet to come since Doomsday has awaken again.

Okay let's get this out of the way, this issue was half a set-up for the upcoming Superman: Doomed crossover.

The character segments are great as usual. Charles Soule does a great job at portraying both Superman and Wonder Woman by emphasizing how much they care for one another and there's a scene where they go into another date that also works great for their relationship.

However, the Doomed segments of the issue don't work as well. They seem a bit intrusive considering the kind of story that Soule was telling, they're a bit out of place and while they help to advance the Doomsday story, they don't support the one focused on the protagonist.

Paulo Siqueira, Barry Kitson and Eddy Barrows replace Tony Daniel in pencils this issue and they work is pretty good overall, especially the first two artists since they have a quite clean and attractive style.

Solid issue but the Superman: Doomed aspects don't work as well as the rest.
