The Secret Six will have to face the end of the world.
The group is currently fighting against the different supernatural forces that exist in the universe to impede something catastrophic but the only way to achieve such goal is by making a sacrifice.
Well, just like in the previous issue, some things worked and others didn't.
Gail Simone brings a new chapter in this story where she continues to explore the magical side of the DCU by playing with different characters from it including Aquaman, Swamp Thing, Zatanna, etc. Some of the ideas are interesting enough and actually makes me wish that they were explored more. The character bits were also pretty good and fans of the old Secret Six series will immediately be happy by them.
On the other hand, the pacing can also be pretty messy. There are a lot of ideas here but there's not a cohesive way to incorporate them into the story and for that reason it seems like a lot of random stuff happens and sometimes makes me wonder what is actually happening.
Tom Derenick handles the pencils and his work is okay but is not particularly impressive and sometimes the storytelling can be kinda awkward.
Not one of the best chapters but there are still some things to like.
