Some thoughts about The Flash #30

The Flash has finally returned to Central City after being trapped for so long, but can he really return to his normal life knowing that he left his city unprotected?

Gorilla Grodd and the Crime Syndicate create a complete disaster in the world and Central City was one of the most affected. Barry Allen will try his best to make up for the lost time by willing to fix everything but not even The Fastest Man Alive can be everywhere and he will realize that people are going to die no matter how hard he tries.

All right people, this is one of the runs that I was quite anticipating for a while. Robert Venditti and Van Jensen have become famous for their latest work in the Green Lantern franchise and now they're going to get a handle in the one belonging to the Scarlet Speedster, how does their first issue fares?

I would say pretty well and I'm not kidding when I say that, at least writing-wise, this might be the strongest issue from this volume. The problem with The Flash is that many writers tend to introduce his powers and personality in less than subtle ways, but here Barry's motivations and abilities are presented quite naturally and creates great scenes to demonstrate such skills. I must say that I'm really liking how Venditti/Jensen are developing a bit more of Barry's supporting cast, it's really cool to see characters like Patty and Forrest with more personality than before.

Now, the elephant in the room, how is Wally? Well, the only thing I need to tell you is that physically he's a lot different so prepare yourself.

Brett Booth brings a lot of energy that is needed to a franchise like The Flash, his kinetic and vibrant style works perfect to create scenes where Barry showcases his speed.

Pretty promising beginning, I'm really anticipating the Annual next week and how they handle this story.
