Telos wants his old life back no matter what.
After surviving the convergence of worlds, Telos is ready to face Brainiac for his crimes but his old master thinks that is better to work together if they want to achieve their own objectives. At least that's what he wants Telos to think.
This is pretty much the first "Convergence: Aftermath" series where we see some of the ramifications of that event and is focused on one of the main characters from that series.
Written once again by Jeff King, the author of Convergence, Telos tells the story about the conflict between the protagonist and Brainiac and pretty much sets-up where the story is going as well as some of the characters that will appear here.
The dialogue works nicely enough with the characters saying some of the events that happened during the previous crossover but fortunately it doesn't end-up being like overexposition. The narration has enough personality to be enjoyable and manages to reveal both character's motivations and abilities solidly.
My one complaint here though, is that the issue didn't have enough content. The interaction between Telos and Brainiac is interesting but doesn't offer the amount of story that you would expect from a first issue. As I said, it sets the main plot but it needed more aside from that.
Carlo Pagulayan is in charge of the pencils and his work is stunning, there's a lot of promise in his beautiful and widescreen style that reminds me a lot of Ivan Reis. Great stuff.
So, I would say this is solid and could bring some compelling developments as long as the story progresses more.
