Some thoughts about Black Canary #5

Black Canary is about to meet her match.

Dinah is currently trying to learn who is going after Ditto while at the same time fighting against a mysterious fighter who she seems to recognize. Those are not her only problems though since Bo Maeve is on stage and that can only mean trouble.

Once again, this story is progressing nicely.

Brenden Fletcher continues his work in the series by still playing with the mystery of Ditto as well as developing Dinah's backstory which includes her relationship with Kurt as well as her similarities with the killer who is going after them and is apparently someone she knows.

The tone of the title is still well-developed with Dinah giving a justification for her current role in the band while the group itself also receive some solid character moments that are based on how they handle their own lives.

Oh and Bo Maeve is becoming a Black Canary nemesis in pretty much the way you would expect.

Pia Guerra's artwork is one the highlights of the issue due to her clean and detailed artstyle that makes the story much better. Probably my favorite penciller from this book.

Solid issue overall although I hope we start getting some answers now.
