Some thoughts about Aquaman #45

Aquaman has been sent into another planet, how will he be able to survive?

After being tricked by Siren. Arthur is currently in another civilization with a lot of similarities as his own. However, he will soon learn that their connection is even bigger.

You know, for an issue that promised to be "Aquaman in space" it ended-up being one of the most boring things I've read about the character.

Initially Cullen Bunn seems like is going to explore the idea of Arthur being lost in a different environment from what he's used to see (kinda like what Geoff Johns did when he put Arthur in the desert) but then that's quickly ignored once that he suddenly awakes in an alien kingdom that doesn't really offer anything unique.

This could have been a pretty interesting opportunity to see Arthur fighting monstrous and bizarre creatures and playing with such kind of scenario but instead we got a chapter that reads pretty quickly and is not really engaging.

There are some plot development about where the story is going and the relation that this culture has with the one that Arthur is fighting but other than that, is pretty light issue.

Trevor McCarthy handles the art once again and is still pretty beautiful with good looking characters and scenes.

Yeah, quite underwhelming. Oh, and no mention of Arthur's rape either, cool.
