Some thoughts about Doctor Fate #5

Khalid will need to save his father no matter the cost.

A dark God is threatening the whole world and not even the power of Doctor Fate is enough to stop him. Now, to save his loved ones, Khalid will to pay a huge price.

It's good to see that the story is finally progressing.

Paul Levitz delivers a new chapter where he continues to focus on Khalid's mission of controlling the Helmet of Fate while at the same time showcasing his relationship with the rest of the cast. The conversations between the different characters feel genuine despite of how unnatural the situation is which is something quite admirable.

While the highlight of the issue is Khalid's interaction with his family and friends, there are also some suspenseful moments like when the Gods start getting serious and causing destruction everywhere and actually presents an interesting ramification for the protagonist at the end.

Sonny Liew still handles the art and he keeps impressing due to how consistent the great storytelling is, he's easily one of the best artists that DC currently has based on his clear and unique style.

Definitely enjoyable, wonder what will happen to Khalis now.
