Some thoughts about Green Lantern: Lost Army #5

The Green Lanterns are dying and there might be no hope in sight.

John's group has been able to escape from their prisons but they will still have to face their capturers and if this could mean their end if they don't receive some help.

Cullen Bunn story right here.

As we have seen since the beginning, the author has been delivering a pretty derivative story due that it doesn't offer anything particularly unique in terms of the plot, worldbuilding, ideas nor characterization. The characterization is especially disappointing due that he keeps playing with the soldier angle for Johns which is pretty tiring at this point.

The worst part however, is that the author uses his usual "techniques" to get a reaction from the reader by killing a character. Jruk from Van Jensen's run on Green Lantern Corps apparently dies here and does it in a pretty weak way, not to mention that Guy is the one who worries about him instead of John as it should be.

Jesus Saiz is still handling the art and once again, he's the best part of this title thanks to his incredibly gorgeous characters and vibrant action scenes.

Pretty mediocre issue, just one more left people.
