Some thoughts about Green Arrow #37

Green Arrow will have to face an enemy who has a lot in common with him.

An assassin named Merlyn is looking for Mia Dearden because he has been hired by the same person culprit of the current crimes. Now, Ollie will need the help of some of his best friends if wants to survive.

Sweet mother of God, I so want to retcon this version of Merlyn already.

Okay, first of all, Andrew Kreisberg is hinting that this Merlyn is the same one who appeared in issue 0 of this same title which is the Tommy Merlyn version of the character. I'm not against this idea per se but the execution is just so predictable and incompetent, Merlyn is not really presented as a credible threat and looks quite weak personality-wise at times.

This is even worse considering that barely anything happened in this issue. Sure, they finally met Mia, who is also a pretty weak character as well, but aside from that, this issue was pretty short in content and guess what? The cliffhanger although interesting was not really good.

Daniel Sampere's artwork is actually better than before with improved character models and action.

Still, this an awful issue and it might make this series into my top ten worst this year.
