Some thoughts about Red Hood and the Outlaws Annual #2

Red Hood, Arsenal and Starfire are about to spend their first Christmas together as children... Wait what?

Jason, Roy and Kory need to find Santa Claus and find out what happened to him no matter the kind of dangers they could face. However, there's obviously something really wrong about this.

Boy, this is probably one of my favorite Christmas specials.

Scott Lobdell comes with a pretty inventive premise about our three protagonists becoming and best of all, acting like children. They all talk in a pretty natural way and exactly how you would imagine these guys to behave as kids.

Oh, and they also use lethal weapons. Lobdell even makes fun of this whole scenario by delivering jokes about kids using weapons in Christmas which makes this story not take itself serious thankfully.

Everything is an illusion of course and the way how this connects with upcoming stories is well-implemented. I'm excited for the what's coming.

Tom Derenick delivers one of his best works in pencils in years byt making all the characters expressive, appealing and adorable while at the same time depicting every scene perfectly.

One of the most charming Holiday stories this month. Go check it out.
