Sometimes even Earth's Mightiest Heroes need a little help.
Phil Coulson has dedicated his life and love to the superheroes that have been saving the world since he was a child. Now as an agent of the organization S.H.I.E.L.D. he will need to help to win a war that not even Gods can handle.
This issue marks the beginning of the new series which obviously was created to be a version of the current T.V. show Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.except suited in the proper Marvel universe and written by no other than Mark Waid. So does it succeeds on its premise?
Well, I would say it does at telling a solid story based on the property but still looks some aspects to call it great.
Waid concentrates in the protagonist Phil Wilson and his characterization is pretty faithful to how he was represented in the movies and T.V. show, he's a fanboy at heart and manages to use his own humanity to create solutions that people with powers often ignore.
The writing itself is nicely done with an interesting opening tale, natural dialogue, fun cast, sub-plots and good action. Everything works correctly.
However, as I mentioned before is not particularly impressive, is definitely good but it still lacks some distinctive aspects to call it great.
Carlos Pacheco is on art duties and once again, he's art is solid not really impressive nor unique but it has a serviceable style.
So overall, this might not be a hit but I still would say is a good starting point and hopefully it will improve in the future.
