Can Dick Grayson and Helena Bertinelly triumph over all the deception?
Helena has been captured by a group who is willing to take on Spyral and they have hired a professional named Robert McGinn to achieve their mission. Is game of spies though and all the people involved here might not be who one thinks.
This was an interesting story definitely. "Story" being one of the key words here.
Tim Seeley and Tom King handle the plot while the latter is in charge of the full script. There are some really strong themes that fit into the whole spy vibe that the authors have been trying to create since issue 1 with the hypnotic illusions from Spyral.
Stories, lies and rain are some of the recurring words that you will find in this Annual and they're all related to the tale that is being developed here. I can't say too much without spoiling it but all becomes a compelling read.
I saw that revelation coming but still was a nice play.
Stephen Mooney is on art duties and he does a great job at following the kind of style that Mikel Janin has created for the series with a pretty polished work.
Solid chapter definitely. Enjoying these stand-alone tales.
