Is the Justice League ready to start once again?
Superman is dead and the new one is not sure if he wants to replace him but he will need to since a powerful alien force is planning to conquer the Earth.
Here we go again, Bryan Hitch's work on the series continues. The last Rao arc wasn't so successful due to how delayed and decompressed it was which is especially bad since it wasn't that much of an interesting story. So how does Hitch fares here?
Well, a little better.
The story focuses on how a sort of Starro alien creature starts taking control of the people of Earth with the members of the Justice League trying desperately to stop it. The pacing works nicely with solid action segments and while it can be a bit jumpy, it doesn't really frustrates the read.
The problem here is that the characterization can be off at times once again. The pre-COIE Superman shouldn't need to be convinced to help the world and the rest of the team, especially considering that they really need some help in a frikking alien invasion and is particularly obvious this was just to make the story longer since once that Clark starts acting they win the battle easily. It seems like this portrayal was pushed just so it could fit into this particular story.
Hitch's artwork is pretty solid with nice fight scenes and expressive characters.
Presentation-wise there are not many complaints and is a bit improved compared to the last arc but it still can be better.
