Wally West is back but some of his enemies have followed him.
Wally is trying to make Linda Park remember who he is and he needs the help of his friends to do so. However, the culprit of his disappearance might have other plans for him.
The series proper beginning is here and while it still covers many of the same points, I think it does it in a solid way.
Dan Abnett continues the story of The Return of Wally West by following some of the events after he came back. Unfortunately, we have already seen some of these scenes and I feel like they wasted a few pages in giving info that we already knew. Fortunately though, the rest of the issue progress at a nice pace with solid character work and a nice dynamic between the members of the cast.
There is new characterization as well. This is the first time in a while that I've seen Donna Troy... happy, is a bit weird considering that just a while ago she was either bloodthirsty or angsty with very little personality beyond that, I wish that Abnett would have explained the difference between her change of character. The rest of the cast are written the way you would expect though.
Brett Booth handles the artwork and is pretty fitting for the series thanks to its kinetic and powerful style which especially shines during action scenes.
I enjoyed it overall but I hope we receive more plot progression next.
