Are the Teen Titans heroes or criminals?
Amanda Waller is trying to recruit new members for her Suicide Squad and she thinks these teenagers can fill those spots but they're ready to prove her wrong.
Well, this pretty much summarizes a story written by Tony Bedard.
No, this time the author doesn't dedicate the issue to his critics... I mean, "trolls" but instead delivers a story where the team tries to rescue Red Robin from Amanda Waller. There's nothing wrong per se here, the characters act the way they should, the action is decent, the pacing is okay, not bad.
Then again, as you would expect from the writer, there's nothing "great" either. The story is mostly by the numbers with very little to be distinctive from your usual superhero stuff, not even the dialogue is witty enough to save the premise, is a pretty derivative chapter.
Oh, and what's the idea that Bedard wants to emphasize? That the Teen Titans are not criminals and Waller shouldn't recruit them... and that's something everyone already knows (Now, that I think about it, the issue is also pretty lacking in content and weight).
Ian Churchill handles the artwork and just like the writing is not bad but is also lacking in style, the characters and action are detailed enough but they're not particularly beautiful.
Yep, mediocre, mediocre, mediocre and don't expect more from the last couple of issues.
