Some thoughts about Aquaman #2

What's the result of the feud between Aquaman and Black Manta?

Manta has done everything to make Arthur's life miserable but Arthur knows that there's no point to this endless cycle of revenge that connects them.

This direction continues but I'm surprised that the initial arc ended so fast.

Dan Abnett focuses on the battle between Aquaman and his archenemy Black Manta but it actually takes an interesting twist. The characterization works nicely with Arthur showing that he's not planning to go back to his old ways since he wants Atlantis to be accepted by the surface world and this is especially reflected in his confrontation with Manta.

The manner how the fight ends makes a lot of sense from both parts. The author realizes how limited Manta's original motivation is and fortunately seems like he's decided to give him a new direction that hopefully will be explored in the future and actually make him more complex as a character.

Scot Eaton handles the artwork and is decent, is not particularly beautiful but it gets the job done in terms of character expressions and storytelling.

Enjoyable issue, my only complaint is that I wish it had more content.
