Who is Nightwing?
Dick Grayson is back to Gotham City and is ready to connect once again with the most important people in his life. However, trouble will always find him one way or another.
This is the beginning of another different, yet familiar direction for Dick Grayson. The Grayson era was a pretty experimental and interesting time for the character and this time he's back to his classic identity and written by one of the Grayson authors, Tim Seeley once again. Does this title succeed at being a worthy new jumping-on point for the protagonist?
Of course it does.
Since the early pages you can see that Seeley is trying to connect the last Grayson book to this one and he does it in a way that makes sense based on the last events that happened in that title. Some of the best aspects however, are focused on Dick's relationship with both Damian and Bruce which once again, are pretty accurate considering their respective histories. The clever dialogue makes this scenes shine even more.
The characterization is not the only good point since there are a lot of plot-points being introduced here including Dick's history with the city and the Court of Owls and how that affects all the people involved. It seems like there's big plan going on.
Yanique Paquette's artwork is beautiful with gorgeous characters, a creative storytelling and quite clean style.
"Better than Batman" indeed, hope the rest of the series is just as good.
