Some thoughts about Green Lanterns #2

The Green Lanterns will have to save the world once again.

The Red Lanterns have been preparing they're attack for a while and their plan is succeeding since most of the population is under their control. Now is up to Simon and Jessica to stop them before is too late.

The story continues and while is a bit better than the last few issues, it still needs some work.

For one, Sam Humpries' story progresses at a faster pace. There are much bigger and overall enjoyable action segments that makes the whole sequence more engaging while they also demonstrate both Simon and Jessica's personalities in a stronger manner. The exploration and contrast of their background seem also on-point.

The problem comes with the narration, especially from narration boxes. At times it seems like is trying to be witty but it just ends-up being overwritten with the characters saying more than they should in kinda unnatural ways. Strangely enough, the dialogue works a lot better but those sections can make the everything awkward.

Robson Rocha's pencils work nicely, his characters are pretty expressive and good looking while the fight scenes are pretty intense.

Not as mediocre as before but I hope there are some improvements in following issues.
