Is the end of the life of Matt Murdock as he knows it.
Daredevil has been fighting all his life for what is right no matter if he had to sacrifice himself for the greater good and this time is no different. After a shocking revelation, Matt will have to set his life in a whole new direction.
I suppose you're surprised about finding a Daredevil issue here and I bet that you will be even more surprised to hear that he's actually my favorite Marvel superhero. I have been a hardcore Daredevil fan since the mid-90's thanks to authors like Frank Miller and later Brian Bendis so how does Mark Waid's run compares to those previous masterpieces?
For one, Waid goes for his own direction. Since issue 1 he has been telling his own version of Daredevil which focuses on a more happy and positive route for Matt Murdock, is personally not my favorite interpretation but one that is ultimately well executed.
This issue continued the same trend. Due to the shocking events of the last issue Matt's life obviously can't ever be the same again and I really like how Waid used some past plot-points into this current route, it's one that looks pretty interesting so far. Is a satisfactory ending overall.
Chris Samnee continues to be in charge of the art and he's clearly a master storyteller. Mark Waid has been very fortunate to be able to work with such a great roster of pencillers during his run.
Satisfying ending and promising new beginning for the new series.
