Some thoughts about Batman/Superman #8

The first encounter between the World's Finest of two earths.

Power Girl seems to be at her breaking point after losing control of her powers for so long and Huntress will have no other choice but search for the assistance of the Batman and Superman of this world. Can Superman be able to save Power Girl or will he succumb to the same fate?

As you may have guessed already this is the beginning of the "First Contact" crossover story between Batman/Superman and Worlds' Finest and I must say that so far it's a nice start.

Greg Pak continues the story where Paul Levitz left it in the previous issue of Worlds' Finest and he does a quite good job at portraying both the similarities and differences between all these characters but with an special focus on the protagonists of this series by playing with the ideas Pak introduced on his first arc. It's a pretty cohesive work.

Jae Lee is back on pencils and his art is simply stunning. His work has a pretty unique style that looks like quite elegant paints and gives this title a quite distinctive feel, although I'm starting to believe that it might not be the best for this book since it's so different from a traditional superhero look.

This was an overall solid beginning and it actually continues this same week in Worlds' Finest #20. How does that fare? You might be surprised about my thoughts.
