Some thoughts about Wonder Woman #28

The quest for finding Zola is about to get much more complicated.

Wonder Woman not only needs to find her and her baby but also fight against Cassandra's army who is threatening to enter the Olympus where currently there is a brutal battle between Apollo and the First Born where the winner will be chosen as the new king, of course, if any of them survives.

Brian Azzarello continues to develope his ongoing story in this series and his strong points are still present here. Character work, dialogue and themes are well depicted as usual and especially liked how Diana is being portrayed as one of the most compassionated persons in the world.

However, the pacing continues to be pretty slow. Aside from the battle between Apollo and the First Born, you get the feeling that not much has happened in this issue and that's something I have been saying for a while now. Azzarello probably has a plan for all these threads but I wish he would start delivering a bigger resolution by now.

Cliff Chiang is in charge of the pencils here and he's incredibly wonderful (hey!). His style continues to be quite distinctive and majestic, his Diana is especially gorgeous.

Solid issue but the ongoing problems are becoming even more apparent.
