Some thoughts about Superman: Lois Lane #1

The most important aspect of Lois Lane's life is in danger.

Lucy Lane has come to her sister for help due that her roommate has been suffering from some strange side-effects of a drug that is currently circulating in the streets. Lois will soon learn that not all is what it looks like and she will have to risk everything if she wants to save everyone.

The second special one-shot written by Marguerite Bennett this time focusing on one of the best known ladies in the DCU and I'm happy to say that this might be her best work yet.

Bennett immediately creates an intriguing story based on the relationship between Lois and Lucy by reminiscing several and important aspects of their past, everything is perfectly told and it helps to make the main plot and Lois' motivations even stronger, not to mention that there are some pretty interesting dilemmas here that the heroine must try to solve on her own.

Plus, it's necessary to say that Bennett might be the best Lois Lane writer in the New 52 so far. The character is finally showing some aspects of personality and responsibilty as well as displaying her classic investigation skills by trying to deduce where the drug is coming from.

Also, this might be just me, but are they hinting that Lucy and her roommate are a couple?

Emanuela Luppachino, Meghan Hetrick, I.G. Guara and Diogenes Neves all share art duties on this special and their work is surprisingly cohesive, their styles mix perfectly with one another and all looks quite beautiful overall.

Impressive one-shot. I wouldn't mind seeing an ongoing Lois Lane series written by Bennett now.
