Some thoughts about Green Arrow #28

The objective of The Outsiders is about to change, maybe for the worst.

After learning the shocking revelations about his father's fate, Oliver is still trying to survive the violent attack of Kodiak, the head of the Shield Clan. However, an even bigger threat is starting to rise, Komodo is back in the game and planning to finally take actions by himself this time.

Once again, this series keeps bringing game changing surprises. Jeff Lemire is able to develope the relationship between Ollie and his father in way that you can understand both perspectives (maybe not so much from the father's though) while also introducing new characters to the scene, Onyx in particular seems pretty interesting already and made the surprise of the last few pages even stronger.

Not only that but there are also some sub-plots being developed behind the main plot, like Diggle trying to fight Richard Dragon for Seattle, I wouldn't be surprised if after this arc ends, Lemire focuses on that development. This is the kind of plannification that I love.

However, I have to say that the best aspect of this issue was Andrea Sorrentino's art this time. The way he handled the action scenes including the sound effects to help tell the story is simply magnificent. Not to mention that Onyx's design is just really attractive and the demonstration of her abilities is just powerful.

Pick of the week once again. Never disappoints.
