Some thoughts about Supergirl #28

Supergirl is losing control once again but this time with much more dangerous consequences.

The battle between Kara and Lobo continues destroying everything on its way and while Lobo is surprisingly thinking about trying to find a way to solve their problems in a more peaceful way, Kara couldn't care less, she's tired of being used by others and that makes her the perfect target for the Red Ring.

The third issue of Tony Bedard's run on this title and I have mixed thoughts about it. Bedard does a solid job portraying both Kara while also creating a logical reason for her rage, Lobo also receives decent characterization and the narration is not bad either. Plus, it was good to see Slobhan once again.

The problem is that is all pretty predictable, you can pretty much guess what is going to be the last page of this issue once that you're halfway withouth nothing really surprising happening in-between. As I said, it's a decent job but one that ends up being quite safe.

Yildiray Cinar continues to be the star of this series, his pencils are able to create a cartoony yet attractive style for the book that it's quite appealing and fitting for a comic book. No complaints at all on this point.

Okay issue I guess and that's the only thing I can say about it.

  1. It's too bad Siobhan hasn't been put to use, as I really liked her character in this series.
