Some thoughts about Omega Men #1

Who are the Omega Men?

Some strange beings have been accussed of the murder of the White Lantern, Kyle Rayner and now they're being persecuted for their actions. However, things are not as they seem to be.

This is the beginning of the revival of an obscure but also beloved DC property. The Omega Men was one of DC's cosmic teams aside from the Green Lantern Corps and it seems like they finally have a time to shine under writer Tom King, how does it fares?

Solidly I would say.

The story opens with the persecution of the Omega Men who are being accussed of murder. The presentation is probably the strongest point here, is simply fantastic, Tom King has a great technique for showing an interesting tale based only on it's style that is quite different from what you would usually find in other books.

The characterization is minimal but goes straight to the point, there are only a few lines but they do a good enough job to portray the members from the cast.

Nonetheless, while the story does a good job with what little it offers, there's no doubt that it offers very little. The issue reads way too fast and I wish that this opening chapter would have more content and answers to make new readers invested.

Barnaby Bacenda's art is wonderful to tell a story, it's certainly one of best aspects here since he follows the kind of tone that King is trying to portray perfectly.

So, once again, this an interesting beginning but I wish it would have offered a bit more.
