Nothing can stop the greatest superhero of all time from returning.
After having sacrificed himself to save the world, Six Pack has somehow returned to fight against evil and he's decided to reunite his old teammates from Section 8 but since many of them already dead, he will need to find some new ones and his first choice will be none other than the Dark Knight.
I've been anticipating this series a lot due that it continue one of the most entertaining moments from the classic story Hitman written by Garth Ennis and John McCrea which was focused on a superhero parody team which was quite honestly, pretty disrespectful at times but it was funny nonetheless.
However, I have to say I have some problems with this before even reading the issue. The ending for Six Pack in Hitman was so perfect, so powerful, so emotional and played with so many themes from such series (seriously, you should read it) that seeing him return is kind of a disappointment. Still, since it was handled by the same creative team, I wanted to give it a chance so what did I think?
Well, this is pretty much a book handled by Garth Ennis and John McCrea all right.
The return of Six Pack is one that makes a lot of sense but still, it makes me a bit sad seeing him in that state again. The comedy is typical of what you would expect from the writer, really crude humour with gross moments and pretty insanse scenes.
The best part however, is when Six Pack encounters Batman. Ennis' hate for Batman is no secret and he certainly shows it here by making fun of him a lot and even portraying him as a racist.
John McCrea is one of the best aspects from this book thanks to his expressive style that actually looks more polished than usual and manages to imitate some classic scenes drawn by Neal Adams and Jim Aparo.
This a solid issue and if you like these creators humour you will most likely like this.
