Since his last encounter with the team, Darkseid has been planning a better way to conquer the Earth and none of the greatest superheroes from this world is able to see it coming until it's too late. Of course, that's not their only problem since the being who destroyed Earth 3 has finally shown himself.
Well, this is certainly one way to open a storyline!
The Darkseid War even officially begins here and Geoff Johns has definitely been developing this for a while. The pacing of the story is great, escalating from the beginning when the group has no idea what's happening to the inevitable end when Darkseid finally arrives, everything works from a presentation point.
The characters are also well portrayed. Mister Miracle makes his appearance having some interesting moments of characterization as well as a quite strong scene with Darkseid. The rest of the cast receive their own moments of course and there are even some surprises along the way.
Jason Fabok completely rocked this issue in terms of art duties, his work was able to capture every scene perfectly thanks to his great storytelling skills and beautiful and bombastic style.
