Some thoughts about The Flash #41

There's a new Fastest Man Alive in town!

Barry Allen has suddenly found a clue about who the true culprit of his mother's death is but his father is not willing to tell him the truth. Even worse is that Professor Zoom is coming and nobody knows his real intentions.

Yeah, nobody knows his real intentions because this feels pretty forced.

I was hoping that the little break this title had would help to improve some of the previous problems but it apparently hasn't. One of my major complaints about the last storyarc was that the storyarc about Future Flash wasn't progressing fast enough and now it appears like the story it's progressing too fast since there hasn't been any development for The Reverse-Flash's appearance aside from a little mention in the last issue.

Really, there's no build-up whatsoever and that sadly makes the antagonist's presence pretty weak and feels like he was actually mandated to appear instead of being a natural inclusion. Plus, we still don't know the reasons of his existence yet.

To be fair though, I do enjoy the reintroduction of some old Rogues although I wsih they had more characterization.

Brett Booth continues on art duties and his work still has a lot of energy but some of the scenes are not so good in terms of storytelling since the characters tend to exaggerate their expressions.

I sadly can't recommend this issue and I hope we get some improvement soon one way or another.
