Some thoughts about Catwoman #41

Selina has decided to become Catwoman again and one of the first things she will have to is deal with the loss of one her loved ones.

Batman has apparently died but Selina knows that there must something else behind his disappearance. However, there are even more important matters at hand since the different families in Gotham City are planning their eventual conflict and the Black Mask is one of the biggest forces behind it.

Good to see such a good series back.

Genevieve Valentine continues her work in Catwoman by bringing the ramifications of the ongoing plot she has been creating since the beginning of her run including the multiple personalities that are playing an important role in the upcoming mob war in Gotham City. One of the most interesting voices here is Black Mask who is becoming a quite compelling villain so far.

The character work is one of the strongest points here, especially concerning Batman's death. Selina's reaction to the news is pretty emotional and powerful and her dynamic with Eiko makes the portrayal even better.

David Messina handles the artwork this time and is frankly one of the best offers I've seen in this series yet. He has a quite clean and expressive style that manage to interprete all the multiple serious moments perfectly.

Excellent issue and definitely one of the titles that you should check out.
