The Justice League continue their mission in a time they're not accustomed to.
The team are trying to fight the menace of Starro despite that they don't know what kind of rules the being plays with. Now, not only newcomer member Guy Gardner could make things worse but also they will have to worry about Lois Lane and how she has been impersonating their own leader.
One of the most enjoyable titles from the New 52 returns and I must say that it's even better now.
Keith Giffen and J.M. DeMatteis arrive with a completely new storyline where they play with several of the concepts they created in Justice League 3000. The members from the team are still subjects who were injected with the DNA of the world's greatest superheroes and for that reason they still unsure of their identity which turns into an even more hilarious situation once that Guy Gardner is resurrected as woman which creates a lot of entertaining gender issues.
In fact, the overall humour is quite good, the writers exploit every situation where the characters appear to now only demonstrate the kind of person they are but also show a lot of different comedic scenes for them. It allows for both great characterization and laughs.
Plus, the issue was also packed with content. The story take us to the current threat of Starro and how different it is from its usual self (in a pretty funny way if I might add), it presents the hidden threat of Lois Lane, it introduces some new members, starts developing a Super-Buddies sub-plot for Booster Gold, Blue Beetle, Fire, Ice, etc. This issue definitely makes your money worth.
Also, it was good to see that character back in the last page.
Howard Porter is on art duties and his work is still as amazing as ever, not only making every environment complex and creative but also making every scene powerful and vibrant.
Excellent issue, one of the best this week.
