The Martian Manhunter arrived to Earth for a reason but nobody has been able to figure it... yet.
J'onn J'onnz always wanted to fit into what the people from this world consider normal but recently he had an epiphany that could change the course of his life and the life of the people from Earth forever.
The Martian Manhunter finally has his own ongoing series after a while. The New 52 version of J'onn J'onnz had several changes of direction over the course of the years and now is receiving a new one from writer Rob Williams, does it succeed?
I would say it actually does.
The author focuses on some strange events that have been happening around the planet and all of them seem to be connected to the protagonist and his history. The author makes some interesting references to the original concept of the character like how he adopted the appearance of a superhero so people could trust him but then gives such premise an interesting twist for the story.
There's a good amount of style in the storytelling the presents the plot in an interesting way and creates good scenes that makes the whole premise even better. It's truly an interesting direction.
Eddy Barrows is in charge of art duties and his work is quite good with expressive characters and able to depict every strong moment perfectly.
Great issue and certainly a promising way to start the series.
