Starfire has to learn to adapt to the life on Earth once again.
Koriand'r is ready to know more about this planet's costumes and for that reason she needs to meet all the people she can no matter the disasters that could cause. Although disasters are coming anyway.
The first chapter from yet another new title, this time focusing on one of the most popular members from the Teen Titans. Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner have found great success in other female characters like Harley Quinn, can they repeat the magic here?
I would say that based on this issue, yeah they can!
Automatically you will notice that this Starfire in particular is more reminiscent of the one who appeared in the Teen Titans cartoon, a very naive and adorable alien who wants to be surrounded by her friends and is pretty curious about human's life. I must say that this is pretty charming portrayal and the creators thankfully know how to exploit pretty well.
The sub-plots are also well-handled and all of them are mostly based on the supporting cast. We meet a lot of new personalities and many of them are interesting and help to create a pretty "sitcom" feel to the series.
Emanuela Luppachino is in charge of art duties and her absolutely gorgeous. All the characters, especially Starfire, look beautiful and they're all depicted in a pretty vibrant style. I also love how Kory's imagination is represented, is a fun touch.
Pretty solid issue, hope that the following ones are as good if not better.
