Some thoughts about Harley Quinn and Power Girl #1

Harley Quinn and Power Girl have found themselves in a bigger problem they could have imagined.

Something happened when they were traveling over time and space and now they have just arrived in world where Vartox, its ruler, has been defeated by a powerful being. How will they be able to save them?

I was highly anticipating this series for a while, not only because it showcases the always hilarious Harley Quinn but also because it reunites the creative team of Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner to work on one of the characters they are pretty familiar with: Power Girl. Their run on the old Power Girl series was one of the best eras of the superheroine so with that in mind, how does this issue fares?

It's quite solid I would say.

This issue takes place in the middle of the events of the previous team-up between the protagonists in the main Harley Quinn series and it plays with a lot of the same humour that you will find in that book as well as keeping the dynamic between these two characters intact. PG's personality has a pretty good contrast to Harley's and it allows for some really fun moments.

Plus, there are a lot of parodies from different cosmic characters including a DC one I believe.

Stephane Roux is in charge of the art and his work is quite appropriate for the series. The main characters look beautiful, the different alien beings look bizarre and the comedic scenes are greatly depicted.

Fun beginning, will continue checking it out definitely.
