Damian Wayne has just been accepted in Gotham Academy and now he will be forced with someone whose personality couldn't be more different from his. That might be a good thing though.
Boy, this might have been one of the most charming issues from this series.
Becky Cloonan and Brenden Fletcher bring Damian Wayne to the cast and one of the best aspects from this issue is the dynamic between Maps and him. Their personalities instantly contrast in a pretty hilarious and delightful way considering how naive and playful Maps is and how serious Damian is.
And of course, the sense of adventure that comes from that encounter is really wonderful. Both embark into a little mission that it's absurd but at the same time makes a lot of sense considering the place where they are. The resolution is also pretty appropriate.
Mingjue Helen Chen is in charge of the pencils this time and her work is absolutely beautiful and one of the reasons why this issue is so good. The style manages to capture the tone of the story perfectly and the characters look adorable.
Great installment, hope to see more this in the future.
