Some thoughts about Justice League #40

There are two forces that are planning to destroy the different realities.

Darkseid and Highfather made a pact with Metron years ago to guarantee the peace beatween their worlds. However, such pact is not going to last long since a being named the Anti-Monitor is planning to bring war no matter what.

This marks the beginning of yet another storyarc from Justice League by Geoff Johns so how does it fares?

I would say pretty good.

The writer does something quite logical that I haven't seen anyone do before: Connecting the different Crisis that the Multiverse has suffered and revealing that this has been affecting reality all along.

The idea is simple yet strong, Johns' premise is based on how if the Anti-Monitor brings another destruction of universes this could be the final end for everyone. It's really an interesting concept.

The portrayal of the Anti-Monitor is also pretty nice since he's no longer that being who just wants to consume all existence, there's more about him. Also, the past between Darkseid and Highfather is explored and create some engaging scenes.

The pencils are shared by Jim Lee, Kevin Maguire, Jason Fabok, Scott Kolins, Jerry Ordway and Dan Jurgens, they all manage to do a great job in their respective scenes and they're quite adequate for their styles.

Pretty good beginning, my only complaint is that it still felt kinda short but a pretty satisfying read nonetheless.
