A cartoonist is currently being inspired by the heroes who used to fight for their safety and he's decided to make them fight again even if that cost his life.
Holy crap, another story by Paul Levitz surprised me!
The author takes the story into a pretty interesting route by focusing not on the classic team but instead on a common cartoonist who just admires his heroes and wants to help them to get better. It's a quite nice touch and it definitely gives the story its own distinctiveness.
The characters also were portrayed especially Shining Knight who is also featured prominently. Levitz certainly feels a lot of respect for this team, he even mentions it when the protagonist says: "I've always loved the underdogs".
The art is brought by Jim Fern and his work is really, really good with expressive characters and solid storytelling.
Pretty nice issue, can't believe it.
