Aquaman will have to face a threat in one of his worst moments.
After the loss of his hand, Arthur's rage issues have been getting worse and things will not get any better once that a mercenary known as Deathblow comes to kill him.
Colour me surprised, I thought this was in fact *gasp* good!
Tony Bedard actually brings an interesting story where he focus on 90's Aquaman just after his hand was cut-off and he's still feeling alienated from the world. The classic jokes about the character are present here but fortunately are not overdone and they can be even funny at times.
The characterization is pretty solid with Arthur reminiscing about the things that happened to him and how he needs to find Mera no matter what, I have a few problems here since he was supposed to be dating Dolphin at this point but eh. Deathblow also receives a nice portrayal.
The art might be one of the reasons why I liked this issue and Cliff Richards certainly delivers a beautiful style full of good looking characters with a semi-realistic tone.
Good issue definitely, can't believe it.
