Some thoughts about Convergence: Wonder Woman #1

Different cults are coming for Wonder Woman.

After losing her powers just like several other heroes, Diana will learn that people have been putting their fate in other beings. However, once that a race of horrible creatures arrive to the city, she will be forced to fight to save the lives of everyone once again.

This was quite good overall.

Larry Hama brings a pretty good premise where he explores a Wonder Woman who is reminiscent of her 70's and powerless version who was more of a secret agent. The writing is pretty on-point with some interesting routes being taken and the concept of different cults being explored.

The characterization is quite good too with Diana being the kind of compasionate person you would expect but Steve Trevor and Etta Candy also receive strong and surprising portrayals.

Plus, it has vampires. Yes, Wonder Woman is fighting against vampires, that certainly deserves its own mention.

Joshua Middleton is on art duties and his work is fantastic. The characters are beautiful, the storytelling is excellent and the scenarios and tone is perfect for this story.

One of the best Convergence issues from this week. Check it out.
