Some thoughts about Convergence: Speed Force #1

Can Wally West manage to make his family survive?

Wally has been trapped inside of the dome for a year and just now is feeling his connection to the Speed Force returning. Now, trapped along some strange beings, he has no other choice but fighting Wonder Woman from the Flashpoint universe.

Okay, I will admit that this actually surprised me.

Tony Bedard's writing is usually pretty bland and while there are instances of that in this same issue, he manages to create a nice premise with what he has. The characterization for Wally is solid if unimpressive, it doesn't offer many surprises about the character and is kinda by the numbers but it still gets the job done. Same case for Irey and Jai who act the way you would expect.

The fun part here is the interaction with other universes like the Captain Carrot one which is full of cartoons, we don't see much of it but it was pretty enjoyable so far. If Bedard executes this correctly it could become pretty entertaining.

The art is brought by Tom Grummett and his work is quite good with nice storytelling skills and a clean tone.

Solid issue, didn't think I was really going to enjoy it.
