Thangarians from another universe are threatening their city and both Dick and Barbara will have to face them the best way they can. Will that be enough.
This chapter marks the return of Gail Simone writing one of her defining characters, Barbara Gordon as Oracle. Does the writer has success in the premise?
Well, I would say she actually does.
The characterization for both Dick and Babs is pretty strong and accurate with some really nice individual moments for each as well as nice interactions between them. The characters seem to be pulled straight from before Flashpoint so old fans will certainly feel familiar with them.
The dialogue also works nice in the different conversations and by presenting the Thanagarians as a credible threat with a lot of personality. It's a pretty satisfying result.
The art is spectacular thanks Jan Duursema's work who has a really attractive style that manages to deliver good expressions for the character and strong action moments.
Pretty solid issue. Hope that the next one follows suit.
