Some thoughts about Harley Quinn #34

Is the end of an era for Harley Quinn.

Harley has decided to pay a visit to her parents and other loved ones and there's no better company for her than Poison Ivy.

Well, the finale is finally here. From the beginning, both Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner created a pretty interesting and most importantly, FUN direction that tried to reinvent Harley in a way that made her much more independent from the Joker and created her own world.

And in many instances they succeeded.

This issue is no different since the writers continue to play with the cast which Harley's friends and family as well as her long-time gal pal, Poison Ivy. The comedy is well-done thanks to good use of jokes at the right time that contrast perfectly with the solid character work that follows it, once again, the writers demonstrate that behind all the silly humour, there's a lot of heart in this series.

That's not to say that both Palmiotti and Conner are afraid to make fun of themselves since they pretty much destroy the fourth wall here by appearing in this issue themselves where Harley complaints about everything she belives they've done wrong and is hilarious all-around.

John Timms and Chad Hardin share the pencils and their work is clearly perfect for this issue, both have defined the looks of this series and I'm glad they were present here.

Solid conclusion, going to miss this team.
