Some thoughts about Iron Fist #5

The Iron Fist will have to realize his true mission.

Danny has been fighting in a tournament full of betrayals and death but now he will learn a secret that will put him in a new path.

Conclusion of this initial storyline and actually makes me more excited for the future.

Ed Brisson brings the final chapter from this arc by revealing even more aspects of the mythos surrounding Iron Fist. For one, the author bases his work heavily on Matt Fraction/Ed Brubaker's Immortal Iron Fist run by referencing a few characters from it and expanding some of those aspects. Speaking as a huge fan of that run, I'm quite happy about it.

Not only that but the writer actually gives a solid character development for Danny since it reminds you how this series started and makes you appreciate how aware of his mission he is now. Plus, the author uses typical tropes like "All I knew was a lie!" BUT he fortunately doesn't make Danny dwell into it and actually confront such problem, is pretty satisfying.

Mike Perkins remains in art duties and he continues to deliver a pretty solid semi-realistic work while showing compelling cinematic storytelling.

Quite good, now I'm definitely in for the long run.
