Some thoughts about Hal Jordan & the Green Lantern Corps #25

The final battle between the Corps is here.

Soranik has decided to embrace her legacy and take the Sinestro Corps with her. However, John has other plans for them and nobody is anticipating what is going to happen next.

Oversized anniversary issue and a quite satisfying one at that.

Robert Venditti concludes this little arc about the conflict between both teams by still developing some of the plot-points created from issue 1. The development that Soranik has suffered is something quite surprising and strangely fitting considering her history while the rest of the cast acts in pretty logical ways, particularly John who demonstrates to be smarter than everyone was expecting.

There are also several sub-plots running here as well including the successor of Tomar-Tu, the fate of the Sinestro Corps and even who their actual leader is. Oh, and for fans of the mythos, there are several references including impurities and even a little word that reveals a lot about John.

Ethan Van Sciver's artwork is simply AMAZING. He makes every scene epic in scale and depicts the script perfectly, not to mention that he portrays a terrifying Soranik that evokes her father presence perfectly.

Quite good read, probably one of the best this week.
