Some thoughts about Detective Comics #956

Cassandra will have to fight against her roots.

Lady Shiva is ready to face her own daughter and the rest of Gotham's protectors but even if they win, things could get only worse.

This storyline finally concluded and while is an appropriate ending, it doesn't save it as a whole.

James Tynion IV delivers concludes this arc by delivering a huge action scene mostly focused on Cassandra and Shiva. The characterization for both of them is appropriate although predictable and derivative considering that everyone knew this was going to be the conclusion of Cass' development and the issue doesn't offer many surprises beyond that. Still, is accurate at the very least and the rest of the cast also get solid moments.

That being said, this was still a quite erratic story that had more issues than it should and most of them were pretty underwhelming. In its totality, this storyline is probably the worst the run has seen which is still quite disappointing.

Marcio Takara handles the artwork and is really distinctive and fitting thanks to his gothic style.

Aside from that, I can't really recommend this book anymore and I'm not sure if I will keep reading it.
