Some thoughts about Aquaman #50

Atlantis and the surface world need to start working together but are they ready?

Several murders have been happening around Amnesty Bay and that might frustrate Arthur's plans to cooperate with the rest of the world. Now, he will need all of his skills and Mera's help to fulfill his mission.

This oversized issue arrives and I can safely say that is one of the best in a while.

Dan Abnett brings a chapter where he perfectly creates the set-up for upcoming stories by making Atlantis connect to the surface. The characterization works nicely with both Arthur and Mera showing their respective skills either in combat or by trying to convince others to trust and each segment manages to be satisfying, especially the latter due that it shows some interesting aspects of Mera's personality.

The characters that are being introduced are also interesting in their own way. A new villain is created that test Arthur's skills while a couple of fun side-characters are added to the cast that show a nice contrast with the protagonist.

Brett Booth handles the artwork and it works pretty well due that he's able to create beautiful characters with strong action scenes. Mera looked particularly gorgeous.

Entertaining issue, excited about the future now.
