Some thoughts about Grayson #18

Dick Grayson is back to Spyral but it might be in the worst time possible.

The agents from Leviathan are currently attacking Spyral and killing everyone inside of it. Now, Dick will need to use all of his skills and allies to win this battle.

This is actually not a filler issue despite that the different creative team might make you believe otherwise.

Jackson Lanzing and Corin Kelley are the writers from this chapter completely following the story that both Tim Seeley and Tom King have been developing all this time and they do it in a pretty successful way. The overall writing style is pretty similar and the creators manage to incorporate a lot of story in this issue by concentrating on different segments from the conflict.

The characterization is pretty accurate and on-point with what we have seen from this title. Dick still acts like himself while his relationships with the rest of the cast are intact. Speaking of the rest of the cast, all of them receive a pretty solid moment in the spotlight culminating with a pretty logical twist at the end.

Roge Antonio and Geraldo Borges are in charge of the pencils and their work manages to be consistent over the course of the story with solid characters and interesting storytelling.

Satisfying issue I would say, good to know that these guys are competent.
