Some thoughts about Deathstroke #16

Deathstroke is still on the mission of saving his daughter and now he will need to face Red Hood to continue with it.

Someone has been manipulating Slade and other mercenaries all this time but might learn about the identity of that person a bit too late.

"Douchestroke".

Someone actually said that in this issue and without any sense of self-awareness about how stupid of a word and insult that is.

Really, that's one of the main problems with this series as a whole, every character talks in pretty dumb and juvenile ways. I'm okay with juvenile dialogue as long as is entertaining and fits the character that says such words, the problem is that almost every frikking character who appears here speaks that way and for that reason you can't take them seriously and you note how this is a flaw in writing and not something done with a sense of style.

About the characterization, Slade is still a fratboy and pretty stupid at times. Red Hood says the already mentioned "Douchestroke" line which may tell you everything about his portrayal here already. The rest of the cast don't have that much personality to bother with them.

The story, don't even bother.

Paolo Pantalena handles the artwork and is pretty solid for the most part following the tone already established for this series which is not bad per se.

Yep, still nothing to see here. Wait for the end.
